The announcement text: Top conference centre with over 100 rooms in East London requires an experienced events co-ordinator to join their busy sales team. At least 1 years experience in an event co-ordination, sales or wedding co-ordination role or a solid background in hotels is essential. This is a full time, permanent role, working 45 hours a week, 5 days out of 7 and salary is dependent on experience. You will be required to carry out show-rounds and handle event enquiries, so you should enjoy coordinating events and meeting and greeting clients. You will aim to deliver customer expectations from the first point of contact through the entire booking procedure. Using sales strategy you will convert client enquiries into bookings and effectively communicate with clients throughout the booking process to ensure full understanding and management of client requirements and identification of further opportunities. Optimising late space and late B&B room sales also features. Essential skills include excellent communication skills, confidence, commitment to the role and professional presentation. They are looking for stability in this role - someone that is committed and who will stay with them. A locally based candidate is ideally required so that the journey time would be no more than 45 mins to 1 hour door-to-door.
